2nd Annual Golf Classic Tournament: Spring 08

On June 25, 2007, Mid-Valley Community Police Council held its First Annual Golf Classic, at beautiful Mountain Gate Country Club. Over 100 people came out to support the event.

Upon arrival the players were provided with coffee, bagels and donuts. They participated in a putting contest, hole-in-one to win a new car, closest to the pin and longest drive for ladies and gentlemen. The event kicked off with our president, Ken Gerston welcoming everyone to the event. This event was a Shot Gun format so Mountain Gate staff guided each foursome to their starting Tee’s.

During the classic we were all treated to a bottomless supply of water, soda beer and food. There were some unbelievable golf shots throughout the day, including, our own Ken Gerston, who on more than one occasion displayed his extraordinary golf skills.

At the conclusion of golf all were invited to the awards banquet. During dinner, over 40 raffle gifts were given out by our raffle master Paul Anderson. Prizes for First, Second and Third lowest score, Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Most Honest Foursome, Putting Contest and Hit the Fairway were also awarded. Here are your winners:

2nd Place: Jason Kent, Gabriel Rameriz, Andrew Rapport, Cirus Montoya
3rd Place: Gary Farr, Neal Miller, Larry Cohen
Longest Drive: Steve Gottschalk
Closest to Pin: Charles Charuvestra
Most Honest Golfers: James Miller, Bruce Whittemore, George Goodyear, Marti Whittemore
Putting Contest: Russell Cohee
Hit the Fairway: Roger Archambough

The event was chaired by Jason Kent of Keystone Towing and because of his leadership and the hard work of the committee this event was a huge success.

A special thanks goes to all those that sponsored the event. Without their loyalty to Van Nuys Community Police Station, the Mid-Valley Community Police Council and the community they serve, this event could not have been made possible.
